Marroquin and Dorsey Named to Skyline All-Conference Team

New York, N.Y. – Freshman Jessica Sickles of Farmingdale State has been named the 2011 Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year in voting conducted by the league's seven head coaches.
In addition, the coaches selected Alex Bentz of Farmingdale State as Rookie of the Year and Lorraine Brady of Mount Saint Mary as Coach of the Year. The Sage Colleges earned the Team Sportsmanship Award from their peers.
Sickles enjoyed a simply outstanding rookie year for the Rams, as playing at #1 singles, she posted a perfect 6-0 record in the league and was 10-3 overall. The standout from Massapequa Park, N.Y., also amassed a 5-1 league mark at first doubles, and was 8-5 overall.
Bentz, a high school teammate of Sickles at Massapequa High, also enjoyed an amazing freshman season. Playing at #2 singles, she posted a perfect 13-0 record, including 6-0 in Skyline play. She also had a stellar 11-2 mark at second doubles, including 4-2 in conference action.
Brady guided Mount Saint Mary to an outstanding season, as the Knights finished 13-2 overall and 6-0 in Skyline regular season action. To cap off the sparkling campaign, Brady led her squad to the finals of the 2011 Skyline Championship. Overall, she has a sterling 130-28 record in 10 years with six conference crowns.
The 2011 All-Conference First Team consists of Bentz, Gabrielle Murphy-Goldberg and Emily Gregory of Mount Saint Mary, Gabriella Marden and Moriah Ormsby of Purchase, and Nancy Marroquin of St. Joseph's-L.I.
The Second Team is composed of Kristina Rossano of Farmingdale State, Jen Gregory of Mount Saint Mary, Ariel Zeig of NYU-Poly, Melissa Siller of Purchase, Isabella Pericone of The Sage Colleges, and Katelyn Dorsey of St. Joseph's-L.I.
